This is a notice of intent from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division to issue a cost plus fixed fee/firm fixed price contract, on an other than full and open competition basis, to British Aerospace Engineering, Marconi Aerospace Systems Inc., Advanced Systems Division, One Hazeltine Way, Greenlawn, NY 11740-1600 for the development of a beam forming network (BFN)and modification of the baseline system of a AN/UPX-37 interrogator. The BFN and AN/UPX-37 will be incorporated into an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system to be demonstrated with the UHF Electronically Scanned Array (UESA) at the Navy's Mountaintop Surveillance Sensor Test and Integration Center (MSSTIC) in Kauai, Hawaii. BAE is the only firm that possesses the proprietary data rights to the source code, required knowledge, experience, and technical data to perform this effort within the limited time constraints of the Navy.
