Q -- PATHOLOGY AND CYTOLOGY SERVICES SOL RFQ 10907-0026-0 POC Doug Fear, Contracting Officer (606)253-8894 The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a non-personal services contract for Pathology and Cytology Services. Duties are to be performed at the Federal Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. Duties include: function as the FMC laboratory director, provide monthly in-house visits to the central laboratory (two hours in length), provide consultant pathology and cytology services at contractor's laboratory, perform pathological examination of tissue specimens submitted, and provide pick-up of specimens from the FMC. Due to the nature of this contract, all individuals working within the confines of the institution will be required to submit to security clearances. Individual requirements include: pathologist with board-certification and current unrestricted state licensure, laboratory approved by the College of American Pathologists and accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. This will be a competitive procurement with award being made to the offeror determined to be in the best interest of the Government with price and other factors considered. The base year will run for twelve months from the date of award with four (4) option periods for renewal. Anticipated date of award is May 31, 2000. It is anticipated this solicitation will be mailed approximately March 01, 2000 with an anticipated due date of March 31, 2000. It is anticipated that this solicitation will result in a Firm Fixed Price Requirements type contract. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
