The Defense Supply Service-Washington intends to negotiate a sole source contract with The Clockwork Group, located in Austin, Texas, for the development and application of a software model to reduce costs associated with the Army's fleet of 55-engines without degrading readiness. The model is expected to demonstrate how to optimize maintenance and supply decisions at various support levels. The Clockwork Group will collect and analyze data; create and validate an "as is" baseline SPAR model of the T-55 engine's use and support infrastructure; use the model to analyze and optimize total ownership cost; and train and support the U.S. Army Aviation and Missiles Command (AMCOM) personnel in the use of the model.
