(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is SP4700-00-Q-0009. The solicitation is issued as a request for quotation. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses is not a set-aside. The standard industrial code is 7011 and the small business size standard is $5.0 million. The small business competitiveness demonstration program does not apply. (v) Leasing of hotel facility for conference. Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area. Dates: February 21-22, 2000. 325 people attending. Guestrooms/Lodging needed for 100 people. Government per diem rate required. One large conference room or ballroom set up classroom style with a seating capacity of 325 personnel. Registration area. Five (5) breakout rooms capable of holding 50-100 people each, auditorium style. Substantial audio-visual support for ballrooms and breakout rooms. (Podium Microphones, Compact Disc/Cassette Player, Sound System/Mixer/Forum, LCD Wireless Lavalier Microphone, Wireless Mouse, Wireless Hand Held Microphone. Mitsubishi LCD Projector, Screen (10x10), 8x8 Tripod Screen, Ultra Bright Overhead Projector, Flipchart Package, 6x6 Tripod Screen, Powered Speaker) Two holding rooms, one for VIPs and for the color guard/musicians. Storage room for supplies. Food and Beverage Requirements: One large conference room or ballroom to accommodate 325 people for a formal luncheon with a guest speaker and host a reception (heavy hors d'oeuvres).
