E-MAIL: Click to contact techical POC, Michael_R_Burningham@sd.fisc.navy.mil. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center is currently seeking sources which manufacture and/or distribute mobile conveyors. Conveyors should be similar to models used by commercial airlines for luggage handling. The government requirement for conveyors will directly support on and off loading of supplies to U.S. Navy Ships pierside. Conveyors must have a minimum 35 foot belt length with a load capacity of not less than 2,000 pounds with a belt speed of 40 to 60 feet per minute. The conveyor must be able to be setup and secured within 10 minutes or less and must be readily portable. Ideally, it should operate off of its own power source although, shore power cables are available but may limit the use and mobility. Firms that provide these types of conveyors are invited to submit descriptive literature to the address noted in this announcement.
