REQUEST FOR INFORMATION -- The Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal
Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV), Indian Head, Maryland is
requesting information on commercially available underwater sensors
suitable for incorporation onto small, two-man portable, untethered
unmanned underwater vehicles for the detection and classification of
"mine-sized" targets in very shallow water region (10 to 40 foot
depth), and/or computer-aided-detection and
computer-aided-classification (CAD/CAC) software for such sensors. This
is part of an analysis of alternatives study. Performance description
information is sought in the form of brochures, specification sheets,
and company points of contact. Also of interest are underwater sensors
and CAD/CAC currently under development which are planned to become
commercially available in the 2003/2004 timeframe. Please note the
expected availability date on these submissions. Design proposals
requiring developmental funding are not of interest at this time.
Deadline forsubmission is 06 March 2000. Information provided under
BAA00-002 need not be resubmitted. Correspondence should be directed to

no commitment on the part of the U. S. Navy to award a contract as a
