E-MAIL: Wayne J. Simmons, wayne.simmons@msfc.nasa.gov. NASA/MSFC plans to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for "Construct Addition to Building 4624." The work consists of a base plan for the construction of a 20,000 sqare-foot addition to an existing warehouse (Building 4624) and incudes two 10,000 square-foot additive alternates. The addition will consist of the installation of a metal-sided, steel-framed building with lighting and ventilation. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. Award is contingent upon the "Availability of Funds" clause of the FAR. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. [See Note 1]. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1541 and 17M., respectively . The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about February 25, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Primary point of contact. A $25.00 Cashier's Check made out to "NASA CASHIER" is required for each package requested. ALL PRIME CONTRACTORS SUBMITTING A BID MUST HAVE AN EXPERIENCE MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) OF 1.0 OR LESS. THE EMR RATING MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH BID. THE SUBCONTRACTORS WORKING UNDER THE PRIME CONTRACTORS SHALL HAVE AN EMR OF 1.1 OR LESS AND SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER PRIOR TO "NOTICE TO PROCEED." CONTRACTORS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED "NON-RESPONSIVE". All responsible qualified sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
