This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the ONLY solicitation -- a SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation number N00181-00-Q-0341 applies and quotation are being requested. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement 1998 Edition. The Standard Industrial Code is 2295 and the business standard is 1000 employees . This requirement is for two sizes of INSULATED DUCT: 1) 10 inch, qty: 30 lg: 2)12 inch, qty: 130 lg; The following ordering data applies to BOTH sizes: 1) Duct shall be provided in 25 ft length; 2)duct shall be provided with cuffed ends that are a minimum of 3 (three) inches and a maximum of six (6) inches; 3) The color of the duct may be black, blue, silver, or gray. The color SHALL NOT BE yellow, magenta, red, or contain any of these colors; 4) The duct shall be capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from thirty-two (32) deg Fahrenheit to two hundred-fifty (250) deg Fahrenheit; 5)Duct shall be reinforced with a steel helix wound wire; 6) Duct shall meet or exceed UL-94-0 for fire retardancy; 7) Duct shall be fire retardant per Federal Test Method 191 and the results shall meet or exceed the criteria given in paragraphs 3.3.9.3 of Mil-H-18158E.; 8)Duct shall be neoprene coated cotton or polyester fabric, interior and exterior and must be weatherproof in order to prevent the saturation of the insulating material; 9) Duct shall have a "R" factor rating of 0.7 minimum and 1.4 maximum; 10) Pounds of force required to crush one foot of duct to 1/2 of its diameter shall be 20 or greater; 11) The manufacturer's name and date of manufacture shall be printed on each length of insulated duct in contrasting permanent ink, in letters and numbers three-quarters (3/4") to one (1") inch in height; 12) A two (2) foot sample of insulated duct shall be provided with each offer. THIS REQUIREMENT MAY BE WAIVED IF THE CONTRACTOR HAS PROVIDED A SAMPLE TO NNSY PREVIOUSLY AND CAN CERTIFY ITS APPROVAL. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to: Receiving Officer, Bldg 276, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, 23709-5000. Inspection/Acceptance at Destination. IMPORTANT NOTICE: DFARS 252.204-7004 "Required Central Registration" applies. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror/quoter INELIGIBLE FOR AWARD.
