NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 3 each H-SB CTRLNGFO-10 long media card; 3 each of H-AS-DPCINH2m-20 PCI SCRAMNET CORD w/2mb SIMM; 6 each H-SB CSIMMO2M 10 2MB SIMM expansion; 1 each CKDM-VXM2VC1S-RA VME VxWORKS for 2604; and 1 each CLIC-VXM21S license for VxWORKS software. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Systran Corp., the only known source. An installed base of SCRAMNET network products already exists here at LaRC and the capability to interface with those existing networks is critical. These parts are also used as spare backup units for the existing system. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 25, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
