INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER FOR RENEWAL OF MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR HARDWARE AND SUPPORTING FIRMWARE The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a follow-on sole source purchase order utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the incumbent firm, Data General Corporation, 4400 Computer Drive, Westboro, MA 01580 for the renewal of maintenance and support services for hardware and supporting firmware for items such as the following proprietary products: AV3600R 200MHZ, DUAL, 64MB, FD, C; AV3600R 200MHZ, QUAD, 64MB, FD, C; Replace 8MB Cache W/64 MB Cache, Replace 64MB ECC with 256MB ECC MEM; Replace 64 MB ECC with 512 MB ECC MEM; Replace SGL LAN W/4 PORT LAN-AV6600 etc. The period of performance for this order will be 12 months from date of award. This notice of intent is for information purposes only, therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. All sources eligible to provide services must respond in writing, response must be supported by clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide services for products outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract with Data General, a sole source acquisition award will be made.
