(410)962-5611 In general terms, the project consists of upgrading
adding additions to a historical training facility (Building 3074) on
Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Significant major project features
are replacing and repairing exterior windows, roofing, doors, floor,
walls, ceiling and interior surfaces. Repair and renovate latrine,
break areas, tool room, and classroom spaces. Upgrade or replace
existing HVAC systems and fire and life safety features.
Install/upgrade safety devices in training areas. Install public
address and warning system. Considers historical requirement for the
addition and all exterior work. Access for the handicapped will be
provided. Abatement of asbestos bearing materials and lead paint will
be required. Phased construction to keep school in operation will be
required with the possibility of off hour working shifts. This is a
best value competitive 8(a) procurement. It is required that the firm
be located within a 60-mile radius of the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and
that the 8(a) firmis in the transitional stage of the program. The SIC
code governing this procurement is 1541. The total estimated
construction cost is between 1,000,000.00 and 5,000,000.00.
Construction Duration is 365 days. Section Criteria shall consist of:
1. General Contractor Relevant Experience and General Contractor Past
Performance. 2. Technical Approach which shall include: Project
Management Plan, Management Personnel & Schedule. 3. Price. It is
recommended that all interested parties attend a pre-proposal
conference and site visit which will be held at (location): Aberdeen
Proving Ground, Building No. 3074, on 13 March 2000 at 10:00AM. Contact
