National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
(NIDDK) has a requirement to Co-sponsor the Minority Trainee Research
Forum with Temple University, 1601 N Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA.
The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
(NIDDK) will co-sponsor this forum by providing 36 trainees their hotel
lodging, meals and conference registration fees. The invited trainees
will benefit from networking at a meeting where their national peers
are present, where minorities from other levels of the pipeline are
available, and where career information is being disseminated. NIDDK's
participation as co-sponsor of this forum provides resources that will
further produce a cadre of minority researchers in biomedical career
areas with the Ph.D. or M.D./ Ph.D. This effort benefits the NIDDK as
the Distance Learning Center (DLC) is seeking to funnel most of the
Physicians Scientists Training Program (PSTP) trainees into NIDDK focus
areas. The Institute intends to purchase this service by other than
full and open competition from Temple University. To the best of the
Governments knowledge they are the sole source to meet the governments
needs at this time. Interested vendors may identify in writing their
interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to
the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request
for competitive proposals, however all responses received before the
closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government.
