The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Mr. David Rubenstein to provide calibration and maintenance services on the Sierra Monitor Gas Detection System at NIST. This equipment is currently under warranty by the original equipment manufacturer and any other sources for this service would violate and void all current warrantees on the equipment. The period of performance will be from the date of award through twelve months thereafter with four (twelve) month option periods. No solicitation will be issued. NIST anticipates awarding a firm fixed priced purchase order on or before March 6, 2000. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, all responses received within the response date, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement.
