E-MAIL: Nancy S. Robb, nancy.s.robb1@jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for scheduled and unscheduled overhaul and repair of Rolls Royce Spey Mark 511-8 turbofan engines. Only offerors certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as authorized repair facilities for the Rolls Royce Spey Mark 511-8 engine will be eligible for this acquisition. Offerors must provide FAA certification numbers for all facilities involved in repair of the engines or engine components. All work will be performed at the contractor's facility unless otherwise directed. Field service support may be required for problem analysis, inspection, and consultation. A 5-year requirements contract is planned with a 1-year base period and 4 1-year options. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 4581 and $5 million in annual receipts, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-15. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about April 3, 2000 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about May 4, 2000. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
