The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), Watercraft Systems Management Office (WSMO) is planning the acquisition of up to three Logistics Support Vessels with contract award planned in calendar year 2000. TACOM is requesting industry feedback, and hosting an Industry Day on Feb 24th/25th at Fort Eustis, Newport News, Virginia, for those interested in the acquisition of the Logistics Support Vessel (LSV). The Army is looking to update the technical description of the LSV, and is soliciting industry feedback to assist in the process. An integral part of the RFI to facilitate and improve the quality of industry feedback is this Industry Day which will provide interested firms an opportunity to receive an overview of the acquisition and schedule, tour one of the existing LSVs, and ask questions of the Government acquisition team. This invitation to participate in the Industry Day does not constitute an invitation for bid or a request for proposal. Currently the solicitation is scheduledfor release in May 2000 with contract award targeted for Oct 2000. It is intended that subsequent to the Industry Day, firms will respond to the RFI in a comprehensive manner which will assist the Army in shaping the detailed requirements for the imminent LSV acquisition.
