http://www.fs.gov. Furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment,
fertilizer, insecticides, herbicides, soil fumigants, and other
materials necessary to grow one-year-old (1-0) bareroot white oak and
red oak seedlings over a four-year period. The contractor will sow,
culture, lift, grade, pack, store and load seedlings for
government-provided shipment. Seedlings must be grown within a 300-mile
radius of Russellville, Arkansas, from acorns collected in Arkansas.
During FY 2000, there will be no government-furnished property. (The
contractor must furnish the first year's acorns.) In subsequent years,
the Government will supply the acorns needed to grow the seedlings at
the rate of 2 acorns to produce 1 tree. This contract will be a base
year with 3 option year periods. It is anticipated that sowing should
begin on or about 1 April 2000. The following is an estimate of the
Forest Service's projected needs: FY2000, sow 57,000 seedlings to plant
in FY2001; FY2001, sow 60,000 seedlings to plant in FY2002; FY2002, sow
80,000 seedlings to plant in FY2003; FY2003, sow 100,000 seedlings to
