seeking proposals for the demolition of a fire-damaged structure,
removal of 38 pilings and installation of a new foundation system
including 37 concrete pilings (20 in water and 17 landside).
Contractors can bid on a portion or all of the tasks listed in the
scope of work. The fire damaged structure is known as Skipper's
Restaurant, approximately 1600 square feet MOL located at the North
Harbor near the mouth of Moss Landing Harbor, Moss Landing, CA 95039,
westward of Highway One. Scope of Work: TASK 1: DEMOLITION (a) Demolish
and remove from site existing structure, including superstructure,
foundations, and all other associated items; (b) Disconnect remove/cap
all underground utilities associated with the structure. Mark and
clearly identify remaining underground utilities and cap locations; (c)
Removal all debris including unsuitable rip-rap materials from site and
leave in a clean condition ready for further earthwork operations to
proceed and (d) Fill all excavations and holes to same level as
adjacent grade using approved aggregated base materials, compacted
accordingly. TASK 2: PILINGS REMOVAL (a) Remove 24 concrete pilings and
8 wooden pilings in water and remove 6 plastic encapsulated concrete
pilings on land, and (b) Remove existing rip-rap in area of new
construction (see site plan). Stockpile riprap materials suitable for
reuse onsite. Removal and dispose of unsuitable riprap materials. TASK
3: PILING AND FOUNDATION INSTALLATION (a) Install 37 new concrete
pilings in accordance with structural drawings (20 pilings are in water
and 17 are landside); and (b) Fabricate and install pre-cast concrete
beams at top of new pilings, including all bolts, anchors, inserts,
connectors, etc. in accordance with structural drawings. TASK 4: RIPRAP
and SITE WORK (a) Install new rip-rap shore protection in accordance
with drawings and specifications; and (b) Import and install fill
material to create an elevated pad around the building as shown on the
drawings. RegulatoryRequirements: (1) Conform to applicable code and
local requirements for demolition work, safety, dust control of
Monterey County and the Moss Landing Harbor District; (2) Conform to
applicable notification and removal procedures if hazardous or
contaminated materials are discovered during demolition; (3) Comply
with permits issued by the CA Regional Water Quality Control Board;
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; CA Coastal Commission; and the County of
Monterey; (4) Comply with the CA Dept. of Industrial Relations's
prevailing wage rates. Contractural Requirements: The Contractor(s)
must enter into a contractural agreement with the Moss Landing Harbor
District. Demolition, Scheduling and Requirements: Schedule for
demolition work shall be coordinated with the Moss LAnding Harbor
District. Demolition shall not begin until other business operations in
the area of the impending demolition have been notified and the
District has authorized demolition work to proceed. Conduct demolition
to minimize interference with operations on and around the existing
area. Insure that no debris enters the harbor waters. Proposals may be
submitted for part or all of the scope of work to Moss Landing Harbor
