Mumford (606)745-3127; Russ Christensen (812)547-7051 Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and incidental supplies necessary to perform the required work on Indian Lake Road No. 501 on the Tell City Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest, Perry County, Indiana. The project is located adjacent to State Route 37 approximately 1 mile south of the junction with Interstate 64 at exit 80. The Indian Lake Road starts at the entrance sign for the Celina/Indian Lake Recreation Area. A pre-bid site visit/meeting will be held on or around March 15, 2000, depending upon the issue date of the solicitation being on or around March 1, 2000. This project will consist of Base Bid Items and Additive Bid Items. The Base Bid Items include 1) The removal and replacement of approximately 13 existing culverts including resurfacing the cutouts with asphalt paving; 2) The removal and replacement of approximately 2,589 feet of existing guardrail; and 3) Two (2) road dig-outs and the resurfacing of the dig-outs with asphalt paving. The Additive Bid Items include 1) Ten (10) minor road dig-outs of existing pavement and subgrade at various locations and resurfacing with asphalt paving over the excavated areas; and 2) Two areas of road surface overlay with asphalt paving. The price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This project will be solicited using Invitation for Bid procedures on an unrestricted basis, i.e. there will be no set-asides. As noted, the solicitation will have both Base Bid Items and Additive Bid Items. If sufficient funding is available at the time of bid opening, both the Base Bid Items and Additive Bid Items will be awarded. If sufficient funding does not exist at the time of bid opening to award both the Base Bid Items and all of the Additive Bid Items, the Base Bid Items will be awarded and those Additive Bid Items which in aggregate with the base bid items fall within the available funding will also be awarded.
