AFCEA -- ROBINS AFB The Robins AFB AFCEA Chapter is sponsoring an information technology conference that will address the technology needs of the Robins AFB community. One of the bases major tenant organizations includes the Warner-Robins Air Logistics Center, which is the largest industrial complex in the state of Georgia. The organization is tasked with providing worldwide logistics management, engineering and depot maintenance. One of the major issues Robins AFB is currently dealing with is their ability to effectively communicate to troops stationed around the world. They are seeking a database system that will allow them to post information that will automatically downloaded to the troops who need the information based on key word searches. Conference topics will focus on database issues that will allow communications to troops based around the world. Topics will include hardware and software needs to make the project work. Topics of interest include Computer Security Networking Remote Network Management ATM Video Teleconferencing -- Database search engines Database Storage, Securely posting information Digital Signatures, and File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The conference will be held in conjunction with the AFCEA luncheon, which usually attracts over 200 qualified personnel. In addition the event will be marketed throughout the base and the surrounding tenant organizations. AFCEA is also seeking sponsors for the golf tournament that will be held on April 14th (the day after the conference). The conference committee is currently accepting presentation abstracts and exhibit space contracts from the government and vendor communities. The conference will take place at the Robins AFB Officers' Club on April 13, 2000. Conference sessions will run 9:00 3:00 and exhibits from 9:30 1:30.
