AVAILABILITY ANNOUNCEMENT Rock Island Arsenal, a Department of the Army Arsenal located in Rock Island, Illinois, hereby announces its availability to enter into subcontract and partnering arrangements with those entities intending to submit offers in response to the Department of the Army announcement and solicitation to equip a new brigade organization. The Army announcement was issued by TACOM-Warren, posted on the CBDNet on December 16; TACOM draft solicitation number is DAAE07-00-R-M032. The Rock Island Arsenal has extensive capability and expertise in manufacturing, including casting and welding with a variety of metals. Rock Island Arsenal has been the world's premier producer of towed artillery for more than 60 years, and has also manufactured component parts for self-propelled vehicles during that time also. Rock Island Arsenal operates a simulated test facility and possesses engineering and technical support for its manufacturing operation. Any subcontract would need to be in compliance with statute. The statutory authority for subcontract authority includes 10 USC 4543, 10 USC 2539b, or, if it is specifically referenced in the solicitation to be issued, 10 USC 2208j.
