COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 17,2000 PSA#2539DOD COMPUTER CRIME WORKSHOP AND EXPOSITION The Assistant Secretary of
Defense for Command Control, Communications & Intelligence ASD(C3I) is
sponsoring the DoD-wide Computer Crime Workshop & Exposition
(Conference Chair Jim Christy -- Law Enforcement & Counterintelligence
Coordinator, DIAP Defense-wide Information Assurance Program). The
program is a four-day workshop emphasizing the response to cyber
intrusions. It will attract Information Assurance (Information
Security) Officers, Installation Criminal Investigators, and Judge
Advocates from over 100 military installations world-wide. Topics will
include: Systems Monitoring, Child Pornography Investigations, Search
and Seizure Procedures, Computer Forensics. In addition, the
conference will initiate Discussions on computer crime issues, Provide
education and awareness, Provide legal guidance, Provide technical
awareness, Provide current DoD-wide guidance on intrusion and computer
crime to all participants, and Establish a network of contacts.
Participating organizations include: Defense-Wide Information Assurance
Program (DIAP), Joint Task Force on Computer Network Defense CND,
USSPACECOM Computer Network Defense, Critical Infrastructure Assurance
Office (CIAO), National Infrastructure Protection Center(NIPC),
AF-AFIWC/CERT, Army -- LIWA/ACERT, Navy -- FIWC/NavCIRT, DISA -- DoD
CERT, AF Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Army Criminal
Investigations Division (MI), Naval Criminal Investigations Service
(NCIS), Defense Criminal Investigations Service (DCIS) The conference
committee is currently seeking exhibit sponsors from the vendor
community who wish to meet the program's qualified audience.
