contract listed here is UNRESTRICTED. Standard industrial code is 1751,
size standard is $7 million. All responsible sources are encouraged to
submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Agency. Project
consists of the removal and discarding of all existing metal and wood
windows, window guards and adjacent trim. Existing windows for all
three (3) Washington, DC Public Schools will be replaced with aluminum
windows and will consist of complete units including sash, glass,
frame, trim, weatherstripping, hardware and insect screens. Existing
wood frame double hung, projected and fixed windows will be replaced
with aluminum frame single-hung and fixed windows. Windows will be
double-glazed. Existing steel frame plastic-glazed operable and fixed
windows will be replaced with translucent panel unit system that
includes an aluminum double-glazed projected panel. Existing window
guards will be replaced with metal fabricated window guards and will be
installed on lower level and first floor windows. New window guards
will be installed on some second floor windows and where there is a
potential for access from the exterior. Some windows, screens and
window guards will be accessible for rescue and ventilation per NFPA
101 Life Safety Code. Incidental work to include new metal supports for
existing A/C units, patching of masonry, gypsum wallboard and ceramic
tile, cleaning, priming and repainting of existing louvers and doors,
and possible lead paint removal. The windows are not of standard sizes
and the buildings were constructed between 1891and 1964. Evaluation
factors below will be used during the evaluation process, but are not
listed in order of importance: Technical Capability; Past Experience;
Past Performance; Management Plan; and Safety Plan. Estimated cost of
proposed window replacements is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
Period of performance is 390 calendar days from date of Notice to
Proceed. Contract type is Firm Fixed Price. Specs, full size $39.50 per
