The work will require removal and disposal of material to provide a channel depth of -44 feet mean lower low water (MLLW) plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth over a distance of 23,500 feet. Material deposited from the previous Wilmington Harbor dredging and disposal operations will be encountered where the new channel passes through the Wilmington Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS). Disposal of all dredged material will be in another area within the ODMDS. The total quantity of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth, is estimated to be about 7 million cubic yards. The estimated cost of the proposed project is over $10,000,000.00. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED. Solicitation to be issued O/A March 6, 2000.
