Material Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division has a
requirement for self-contained and portable commercial replacement
refrigeration units. The replacement refrigeration units will be
coupled with existing prefabricated modular type 600 cubic foot
refrigerators, and shall meet the requirements set forth in the
"Performance Purchase Description for Refrigeration units, Mechanical,
Panel mounted, 10,000 BTU for Refrigerator, prefabricated, Panel Type,
dated 1 February 1999. Requirements will also consist of New Equipment
Training, Option for a Two (2) Year Extended Warranty, and Technical
Data such as Commercial-off-the-Shelf Manuals, Supplemental Data for
Commercial-off-the-Shelf Manuals, Curriculum Outline of Instructions
and New Equipment Training and Training Materials, and Provisioning
Plan. The Government anticipates the use of a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP),
Requirements-type contract of three years duration. Delivery rate for
production units shall be 25 per month starting 150 days after receipt
of delivery order. Shipments shall be FOB Destination and all delivery
addresses will be within the continental United States. New Equipment
Training (not-to-exceed two (2) eight-hour sessions) shall begin 150
days from date of delivery order at the contractor's facility if
ordered on the delivery order. The guaranteed minimum shall be 105
units, and the estimated maximum quantity of 10K BTU Refrigeration
Units is 340. The length of the contract shall be a three-year ordering
period beginning on the date of contract award and concurrent issuance
of the first delivery order. The procurement will utilize simplified
acquisitions procedures in amounts greater than $100,000 as authorized
in FAR 13.5 "Test Program for Certain Commercial Items". Copies of the
Request For Proposal (RFP) DAAD15-00-R-0013 and attachments may be
obtained at our webpage at "http://www3.natick.army.mil", then go to
Business Opportunities, then to Ongoing Acquisitions", then to
solicitation number DAAD15-00-R-0013. The Standard Industrial Code
(SIC) for this procurement is 3585. The solicitation will be issued as
full and open competition on or about 3 March 2000. Proposals shall be
due on or about 2:00 p.m. EST on 3 April 2000. Any questions about this
