The U.S. Army Soldier, Biological Chemical Command's -- Natick Soldier Center (USASBCCOM-NSC) proposes to enter into a sole source contract action with Haake of Paramus, N.J. This proposed contract action is for a commercial equipment package for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Haake Polylab Rheometer Package is required to carry out research in the area of nanocomposites. This equipment is essential to progress in the area of nanotechnology and obtain samples to evaluate for improved mechanical, thermal and barrier properties. This Haake Polylab Rheometer Package must meet the following characteristics: Rheocord 300p; Drive Motor and Measuring System; Standard Interfaces; Instrument control via Hand Held Remote; Integrated Alarm Features; Sensor Auto Detect; Polylab Monitor Software; and other additional features. This equipment must have a mobile bench for existing electrically heated mixers and extruders. It also must have a Blown Film Take-Off for accurately taking off blown films with features that include: collapsing fuide out of wooden strips, 2 squeezing chill rolls, roll diameter 76 mm, and roll width 250mm, and other features. This package must include a Haake's Platinum Plus Training. This Haake PolyLab System will upgrade an existing Haake 40 Rheocord with existing conical twin screws to a Rheocord 300 P providing a PolyLab drive control unit having interchangeable load cells and software with feedback for torque, pressure and screw speed.
