The Non-Lethal Defense IV Symposium will take place at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner, Virginia on March 21-22, with a pre-registration on March 20th. This is the fourth in a series of conferences designed to enhance awareness of the urgent need for non-lethal weapons, concepts, tactics, training and doctrine. Since 1993 these conferences have highlighted requirements of both law enforcement agencies and military organizations. They address the full range of operations from peace support and humanitarian missions through the strategic implications these weapons systems provide. Co-hosted by the Department of Defense Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate, The National Institute of Justice, and the Oak Ridge National Lab, the conference seeks to bring together military and law enforcement personnel with responsibilities relating to the development and application of non-lethal weapons with industrial and government agencies that can meet their needs. Technologies include, but are not limited to: low impact munitions, non-blinding optical munitions or weapons, irritants, chemical mobility inhibitors, irritants, olfactory agents, acoustic systems, foams, electronics, novel systems and other non-lethal capabilities, measures and countermeasures. Senior industry, law enforcement and government representatives will offer their visions to update requirements thoughts for continued improvements in this evolving field.
