Postal Service is soliciting proposals from already prequalified firms for the design and construction of two new facilities on leased sites: (1) Mountain View, CA Main Office, corner of Hope St. and Villa St., a USPS owned building of approximately 17,000SF; (2) Oakland, CA North Oakland Station, Shattuck Ave & 49th St., a USPS owned building of approximately 16,000 SF. Contractors may submit offers on one or both projects. The Postal Service reserves the right to make one or two awards whichever is in their best interest. The Design/Build contractor will be responsible for the completing of the design documents while conforming to Postal Medium Standard Building Design (MSBD) requirements. The work also included design and construction of off-site improvements and utility improvements and connections. Coordination with local jurisdictions, application, payment and submission for off-site improvement plan check and permits will be required and are the responsibility of the D/B contractor. Liquidated damages will be $2000/day. Completion must be within 300 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed for one or both projects.
