Z -- SINGLE PHASE NEGOTIATED DESIGN-BUILD HVAC RENOVATION AND REPLACEMENT SYSTEM AT BURLINGTON, VT SOL NE-00-02 DUE 042000 POC Patricia Pierce 610-557-4248 The USDA Forest Service intends to award a negotiated contract for the complete design and construction for major HVAC systems to replace, and/or renovate 28 year old equipment and systems at the Burlington, VT Lab, 705 Spear Street, South Burlington, VT 05403. The request suggest no changes to basic design layout, except for optional energy recovery systems for the core laboratories, and includes: replacement of 6 existing packaged rooftop cooling units serving the perimeter; 2 air handler units serving the core; 14 reheat coils; the boiler; all exhaust fans; 8 heating and chilled water zone pumps; all controls for new equipment primarily using digit control systems; alternate design for an energy recovery system at the core laboratory areas including new distribution and ERU equipment. All new equipment shall meet current ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency standards. The existing 25-ton chiller to remain and no changes would be made to fume hood exhaust system. The equipment must be Year 2000 compliant. This project is between $250,000 -- $500,000. Solicitation is expected to be issued by March 20, 2000 or sooner. If this date slips, RFP will be due 30 days from the date the solicitation is issued. Pre-Proposal meeting at the site is anticipated to be April 6, 2000. If this date changes the new date will be in the solicitation.
