Postal Service is soliciting proposals to convert a portion of the existing parking garage into workroom space the Albany, NY Processing & Distribution Center at 30 Old Karner Rd. Work includes, but is not limited to, earthwork, concrete foundations and floors, masonry, epoxy flooring, painting, HVAC, electrical, security cameras, and all association general construction. The estimated cost of the work is between $400,000.00 and $600,000.00, with completion within ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on March 22, 2000. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a February 21, 2000 at a cost of $25.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Only certified checks or money orders will be accepted, made payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference Solicitation No. 082530-00-A-0065). Proposals will be evaluated on 1) price; and 2) company environmental health and safety plan, which must be submitted with the proposal. A project-specific safety plan must be submitted by the successful offeror before award. Guidelines for other project requirements are outlined in the specifications. The successful offeror will be required to submit a 100% performance bond and 50% payment bond before award of contract is made.
