plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for services to conduct a
series of workshops on the future of the remote sensing industry.
These workshops should provide the NASA/Commercial Remote Sensing
Program Office with a venue to reach a significant national audience in
Earth Science research, Government agencies and the private sector. The
outcome from the workshops should provide relevant information to help
guide CRSP's future direction and set the national stage for an
expansion fo both public and private sector support for earth science
research from space. This procurement is being conducted under the
Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/SSC intends to purchase
the items from National Research Council's Space Studies Board. The
Justification for Non-Competitive Procurement in included in the file.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and
qualifications to perform the effort in writing tothe identified point
of contact not later than 15 days after posting to include: cost
proposal, period of performance, business size, invoice terms, taxpayer
ID number, and CAGE CODE. Such capabilities/qualifications will be
evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to
conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the
Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open
competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within
the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not
acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may
submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman
