The Federal Aviation Administration's, (FAA) Southwest Regional Office plans to solicit and award a contract for Management of their Fitness/Wellness Center located at the Regional Office Headquarters, 2601 Meacham Blvd., Fort Worth, TX. The manager will organize, schedule and perform all center activities. This includes but is not limited to aerobic classes, weight training, and various exercises, in conjunction with nutrition and weight reduction programs, dietary management, stress management and overall intervention/prevention programs to promote overall good health. User training on equipment and equipment maintenance will also be required. Contract period will be October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001, with four (4) one-year options to renew. For Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing.
