The U. S. National Arboretum has a requirement for renovation of a classroom located on the lower level of the Administration building at 3501 New York Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. The construction under this contract shall include removal and disposition of the existing carpeting, painting of all walls and door areas, installation of a suspended ceiling, installation of a new lighting system, installation of new chair/crash railing on all walls, installation of tackboard sheathing on all walls, installation of three sets of metal double doors, relocation of existing projection screen, installation of a presentation conference unit. This will be a 100% small business set-aside with a Firm-Fixed Price Contract award. The job is to be performed in accordance with the following clauses: FAR 52.236-9 Protection of Facilities and or Building Contents, FAR52.236-12 Daily Cleanup, FAR52.236-13 Accident Prevention, FAR52.246-12, Inspection of Construction, FAR52.246-21 Warranty of Construction, AGAR452.236-75Schedule of hours and days of the week the Contractor proposes to do the work required. Source selection factors will include, at a minimum, price, past performance, and experience, This requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Offerors will be required to submit a technical and cost proposal as stated in the solicitation. Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of technical and cost using source selection procedures as specified in the solicitation. The government reserves the right to evaluate proposals and award without discussions. The solicitation will be available on or about February 22, 2000 with a due date of March 23, 2000 for proposals. The dates as stated are estimated and will be finalized in the Request for Quotation.
