NASA/LaRC plans to issue a IFB for replacing metal baffels with decorative concrete block walls at Building 1242A, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. The work to be accomplished includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Provide temporary pipe supports for existing pipe supported by existing acoustical baffels. 2. Remove existing chain link fence from acoustical baffels. 3. Remove approximately 1700 square feet of existing 14-gage galvanized steel, galvanized perforated facing and fiberglass insulated acoustical baffels, and all associated track rails and metal supports. 4. Clean and repair existing concrete surfaces where the louvers were anchored. 5. Provide new steel support framing. 6. Provide new decorative CMU and altered solid CMU. The order of magnitude for the procurement is Between $25,000 and $100,000 and the effort shall be completed within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1542 and $17M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about February 29, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about April 3, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB. Drawings only will be available from the Bid Distribution Office (757) 864-2547. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
