The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command requires up to eight recapitalized (remanufactured) HMMWV prototypes which will be subjected to contractor and Government testing. The prototype and test effort will be awarded as a cost plus fixed fee contract with firm fixed price options for approximately 6,600 production vehicles and a cost plus fixed fee option for systems technical support. HMMWVs in need of recapitalization will be provided as Government Furnished Property with three old vehicles being provided for every two recapitalized vehicles required under the production option.
