This serves as "Notice of Intent" to issue a purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to MICROSOFT Corp on a SOLE SOURCE basis for the renewal of MICROSOFT Premier Support. This requirement is determined to be available from only one source because of the unique features and the proprietary nature of the software it supports. The period of performance is for one year from date of award. No formal request for quotation will be issued for this procurement. All potential offerors should contact the buyer/PCO identified in this notice for additional information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contracting officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of an acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or Contracting Officer, but communicates Contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentially as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
