michael.cunningham@med.va.gov.. The Milwaukee WI VA Medical Center has
a requirement for a vendor to provide DICOM interconnectivity to
support high bandwidth transportation and archival of diagnostic
medical images. The service must support all DICOM connections and
archive functionality within a multi-vendor environment. The DICOM
archive of the images must be maintained and managed to provide access
of the images 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Contractor must be
able to verify all files sent, have been received, and stored in the
archive. Contractor must also maintain and verify that the data files
sent, received and stored have not been altered from the original
state. All hardware, software, and high bandwidth communications
network lines are to be provided by the contractor. This service must
be provided between the transmitting location near Los Fresnos TX to
the receiving location in Milwaukee WI. The service shall begin on
approximately April 1, 2000 and continue for one year, and include
four, one-year options to renew.It is estimated that an average of
approximately 80 images per business day will need to be archived and
that images will average about 9 MB each. The only known source for
this service is WAM!NET Medical of Eagan MN. However, other firms who
believe they can meet the needs of the VA are encouraged to provide
information concerning their capabilities by the closing date of March
