POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT ICAN DVD PART: U.S. GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENTS SUBPART: SERVICES CLASSCOD: J-MAITENANCE, REPAIR, and REBUILDING OF EQUIPMENT-Potential Sources Sought OFFADD: NAVICP SUBJECT: J-INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS and ADVANCED NETWORKS (ICAN) DIRECT VENDOR DELIVERY (DVD) and ENGINEERING SUPPORT SOL: N/A DUE: 022900 POC: Brian Garrett Code 7NB; Phone (717) 605-3918 DESC: This is a market survey to locate sources that can perform as the DVD support provider for the ICAN systems installed on the CVN68, CVN 69 and CVN76 and when tasked provide engineering support for the ICAN systems. The DVD support includes functions such as storing, shipping, inventory management and requisition processing. The ICAN system consists of various networks (fiber optic and copper wired), voice data lines, switches, node rooms, etc., that provide for distribution of communications and data throughout the ship and for various shipboard networks to communicate. The current source for this system is Newport News Shipbuilding. The Government has system specification and equipment installed for the CVN68 system. The CVN69 and CVN76 will be comprised of the same or similar equipment. Response: This request for interested parties is for gathering information only. Interested parties should request an information package from NAVICP Code 7NB and subsequently provide a statement of interest on company letterhead (not to exceed 20 pages) to: NAVICP ( Code 7NB). The statement shall include as a minimum the following: 1) Capability and experience in performing DVD functions on network systems similar to the ICAN system. 2) The adequacy of the documentation on the CVN68 for a competitive procurement. Any innovative and new conceptual ideas to achieve the stated objectives are encouraged. No solicitation document exists at this time for this request for "Sources Sought". The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this sources sought announcement. Responses must be submitted not later than 02/29/00.
