NASA/MSFC plans to issue a competitive Request for Offer (RFO) via the internet, on or about April 3, 2000 for the lease / purchase, support, and maintenance of themal control units (TCU) for use in the International Space Station and on Space Shuttle flights. Agency will consider whether to lease or purcahse equipment based on evaluation of comparable costs and other factors. An Acceptance Data Package (ADP) shall be required to cover the equipment to be supplied by the vendor. A complete set of specifications and requirements can be viewed on the related documents which are attached tothis RFI. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. Prospective offerors are invited to sumbit comments or questions to: Glen Alexander / PS32G, no later than cob March 17, 2000. In responding use reference number 10SDRFI45. Comments may be forwarded to Glen Alexander via electronic transmission or by facsimile transmission. This request for information is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the review. Any questions regarding this announcement should be directed to the identified point of contact. The anticipated release date of the RFI is on or about February 24, 2000 with an anticipated offer date of on or about March 23, 2000. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
