There are currently no provisions to capture any of the oil if there is an accidental spill as the transformer deck is connected to the powerhouse roof drain system that empties into the river. Work includes installation of a 18,000 gallon oil water separator and cast iron piping connected from the transformer deck drain piping to the oil water separator to capture oil from an accidental spill. Twelve (12") piping will be routed from the existing drain piping in the Cable Spreading Room to the separator located in the Gnenerator Bay. Outflow from the separator will be through a concrete wall to the river. Provisons will be made to remove collected oil by installation of a pump and connection to an existing oil piping system. Estimated magnitude of work is between $100,000 and $250,000. Issue date will be on or about March 21, 2000. Bid opening date will be on or about April 20, 2000.
