36 -- FIBER REPLACEMENT SYSTEM SOL N00600-00-R-1388 DUE 031400 POC Pat Harrison 202 685-1867 The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Detachment Washington intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract to Cincinnati Machine, 4701 Marburg Ave., Cincinnati, OH for a Fiber Placement System. This is a commercial item and will be awarded in accordance with FAR 13.5-"Test Program for Certain Commercial Items". A Justification and Approval is being processed for this requirement. The system shall be a current production model complete with all required attachments, software, control, hardware, installation, training, testing, and documentation . The system shall interact with existing in-house equipment. The system will be utilized to precisely control and deliver 0.125-inch wide towpreg and/or slit tape of 5 to 6 mil thickness and 0.128-inch wide towpreg and/or slit tape of 5 to 10 mil thickness. The system shall be capable of delivering from the chute a minimum coarse length of 4.5inch long. Delivery of the Fiber Placement System, Centered Chute, Assembly Conversion Kit, Solid Compaction Roller Cover, Tensioner Calibration Kit shall be not later than 01 September 2000, but not earlier than 90 days after acceptance of foundation and installation drawings.
