A -- HIGH-EFFICIENCY FILTERS FOR BUILDINGS SOL 00-15 DUE 031300 POC Ms. Kristen Numrych, Fax (703) 696-2208 DARPA intends to award a sole source contract to Y2 Ultra-Filter Inc. to extend their patented air filtration method in order to optimize it for capture of aerosolized biological warfare agents (BWAs). Their technique relies on demonstrating very high efficiency capture of aerosols of size less than one micron while maintaining extremely low pressure drop compared to traditional filters of similar efficiency. This funding will be used to extend this method to the capture of particles in the respirable range (approximately one to ten microns). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Contractors capable of offering their service must respond within 15 days of the date of this notice by submitting specific technical capability to provide this service. All responses received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
