The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for (1) Cryocooler Closed Cycle Refrigerator System to be used with a superconducting magnet for an 83 GHz gyrotron. The cryocooler is required to be a 4 degree Kelvin (4K), two stage, Gifford McMahon (GM) type, closed cycle helium refrigerator. It must have a cooling capacity of 1.5 Watts at 4.2 degrees K. The cryocooler shall consist of a cold head and a compressor. The dimensions of the cold head must be compatible with the dewar of a superconducting magnet being procured separately. The cold head must be capable of operating in any orientation without degradation of performance. The compressor must be air cooled. See Note 1. Block 10 to be determined at issuance of RFQ.
