This announcement constitutes a Request For Information (RFI) synopsis and market research. The VA National Acquisition Center (NAC) is currently conducting a market survey and analysis of Commercial Eyecare Services. The purpose of the market survey and analysis is to ascertain whether or not these commercial services can be made available to authorized users of the Multiple Award Federal Supply Schedules (FSS) program. NAC is proposing to offer a full range of eyecare services to various client agencies within the Federal Government. To that end, NAC is seeking sources and detailed information from companies with the capability of providing various levels of products and services under the eyecare umbrella. The products and services shall include, but not be limited to, a range of services from grinding eyeglasses from a Government/patient provided prescription to a combination of full service eye exams and eyeglass grinding. The possibilities shall also include a managed care concept or a group of providers administered by a single organization. In the response to this RFI, please provide a summary of the eyecare services that your company provides, and Technical Literature and information regarding the eyecare services that your company can supply to the Government. Responding sources should also address their ability to provide these or like products and services on a national or regional basis, and they shall address their specific area of geographic coverage. Information obtained as a result of this synopsis is for procurement planning purposes only.
