The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is conducting Market Research to ascertain the commercial availability of nine (9) sheet-fed perfecting offset printing systems for both of its manufacturing facilities in Washington, D. C. and Fort Worth, Texas. Attached you will find a Commercial Item Questionnaire requesting information the BEP requires on the commercial availability of the sheet-fed perfecting offset printing systems. BEP will provide all utilities in accordance with the requirements specified in the offeror_s proposal. In addition to providing the system, the BEP will require the contractor to install, test, start up and train operating personnel. A solicitation will be issued for the above equipment stating the requirements for BEP_s use. If your company is capable of providing this equipment please complete and return the attached Questionnaire along with information on your business. Please submit the Questionnaire and other literature no later than Wednesday, March 8, 2000, to the following address: Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Office of Procurement, Room 705A, 14th & C Streets, S. It is a means of acquiring information on the commercial availability of equipment from companies who can provide the above equipment for BEP_s requirement. This information will be analyzed to determine the most suitable approach for ensuring that the BEP_s mission can be fulfilled through the acquisition of the most efficient and cost effective equipment. The BEP may contact those companies determined to be capable of supplying this equipment for more information. However, any company expressing an interest in this requirement by completing the attached Questionnaire will automatically be added to the BEP_s mailing list for any solicitation resulting from this Market Research.
