The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston intends to award a $12.1 million Firm Fixed Price sole-source contract to DNE Technologies, Inc. to purchase Low Data Rate Multiplexers (LDRMs) including spare parts, maintenance support and compatible upgrades of existing tactical communications systems. This action is in support of Navy's Super High Frequency (SHF), Extremely High Frequency (EHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), High Frequency (HF) and Microwave (MW) ship to shore communications. The proposed contractor (DNE) is the only known source who can provide the requested equipment since the algorithms/programs for the LDRM equipment versions remain proprietary to DNE. Only DNE can produce LDRMs that are capable of interfacing with all versions of the LDRM. Any responses to this announcement are due by 17 March 2000.
