Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) intends to negotiate only with MSC Software (MSC) on a sole source basis for the consolidation of MSC/NASTRAN software licenses residing on multiple SGI platforms located at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Alabama. CSC plans to award a multi-year subcontract covering the period of May 1, 2000 through April 30, 2004 which will cover the following MSC products: MSC/Basic, Superelements, Design Optimization, Aeroelasticity I & II, MSC/MESH, MSC/ACCESS, MSC/TRANS and Parallel Processing. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). CSC intends to license the rights for MSC's software under the provisions of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), which allows for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source. CSC intends to acquire said commercial items using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on March 14, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by CSC not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of CSC.
