a requirement for Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials Collection and
Disposal Services. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR
COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART
12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS
NOTICE. QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED. The solicitation number is
PX0146 and the solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation
(RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC
97-13. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) anticipates that the
contract will be awarded as a result of full and open competition. A
firm-fixed price contract is anticipated to result from the award of
this solicitation. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition
Procedures. The associated Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this
procurement is 4953. The contractor shall provided Solid Waste and
Recyclable Materials Collection and Disposal Services for the
Environmental Protection Agency, 27 Tarzwell Drive, Narragansett, RI.
In order to be eligible for award, bidders shall submit prices as
specified in statement of work for base year each option year. Option
year one May 1, 2000 through April 30, 2001 . The Government will
exercise the option years in accordance with FAR 51.217-9 Option to
Extend the Term of the Contract, if required. The Government will give
the Contractor a preliminary notice of its intent to extent at least
60 days before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not
commit the Government to an extension. Award will be made to the lowest
price meeting the Government's minimum needs. The following FAR
provisions shall apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1,
Evaluation-Instructions to Offerors Commercial; 52.212-2,
Evaluation-Commercial Item. The following FAR clause applies to this
acquisition: 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items.

52.212-5 are applicable to the acquisition: 52.222-26, Equal
Opportunity; 52.222-35, Affirmative Action for Disabled Veterans and
Veterans of the Vietnam Era; 52.222-36, Affirmative Action for

Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era; 52.222-41, Service Contract
Act of 1965, as amended. All interested parties who would like a copy
