It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Jesus People Against Pollution, P.O. Box 765, Columbia, MS, 39429, to develop an AHEAD 2000 Information Resource Center that will enhance its current program and make electronic and printed health information available to program staff, their clients, and community-based organizations throughout the Lower Mississippi Delta Region. Duties shall include: 1. Providing workstations for online access to NLM databases as well as other federally recommended Web sites. 2. Serving as a distribution site for print material from NLM and other federally recommended agencies and organizations. 3. Serving as a training site for church ministries, community-based organizations, and schools throughout the region between Jackson and Columbia, MS. Training will include grant-writing skills, database access, and search and retrieval skills. 4. Establishing a relationship with at least one local library and school to promote training on the use of electronic media to access health information and encourage use of public venues to access HIV/AIDS information. 5. Build a website to provide information about the AHEAD 2000 Information Resource Center and the NLM/JPAP partnership. 6. Hosting open house events to increase awareness of NLM's HIV/AIDS resources.
