It is the intent of Norfolk Naval Shipyard to issue, on a sole source basis with Newport News Shipbuilding, a procurement for contractor provided services of formal classroom courses. The courses are designed to provide a basic understanding of the A4W and S6G reactor plants, related steam and electric plant systems, and overall propulsion plant operation and testing. NOTE: Norfolk Naval Shipyard intends to issue an Indefinite Delivery, Requirements, Type contract with firm-fixed, per student unit prices. The contract shall consist of a base year and four one (1) year options [Base, First year effort one (1) class for two (2) students for A4W training beginning March 10, 2000, one (1) class for estimated twelve (12) students for S6G training beginning between June 2000 and August 2000; Option I, Second year effort one (1) class for estimated twelve (12) students for A4W training; Option II, Third year effort one (1) class for estimated twelve (12) students for S6G training; Option III, fourth year effort one (1) class for estimated twelve (12) students for A4W training; Option IV, fifth year effort one (1) class for estimated twelve (12) students for S6G training].
