Amendment #1 to combined synopsis/solicitation RFQ-0010577, printed
issue date 2/22/2000, CITE# W-047 SN426256. This amendment is to
incorporate technical questions received from offerors. Question #1: Is
it mandatory for all of the equipment listed in Requirement #1 to be
onboard the same aircraft as passengers? RESPONSE: Yes; Question #2: Is
it mandatory for the drivers to be onboard the same aircraft that is
airlifting the vehicles? RESPONSE: Yes; Question #3: Can a non US
carrier be used to airlift the vehicles and helicopters? If so, can you
assist in obtaining special permits for a point-to-point operation
within the United States? RESPONSE: No. Due to the sensitivity of the
equipment personnel shall accompany, and based on certain regulations
government personnel shall travel only on US flag carriers; Question
#4: What is the security classification of the equipment?
(Unclassified/classified etc) This speaks to chain of custody?
RESPONSE: The equipment is considered sensitive. The equipment can not
be transferred unaccompanied; Question #5: Some equipment
nomenclatures appear to be weapons. How will these weapons be secured
for air transport? RESPONSE: The nomenclatures that appear to be
weapons will be transported in their locked cases; Question #6: Will
there be ordinance (explosives or class 4 munitions) included in the
shipment? RESPONSE: No. There will be no explosives or class 4
munitions for this requirement; Question #7: Concerning the vehicles
and aircraft. How are they being secured for air transport (fuel,
fluids purged and batteries removed)? RESPONSE: Vehicles and aircraft
will be transported within Air Force regulations. No more than tank of
fuel and battery terminals taped; Question #8: Is there any other
hazardous material scheduled to move that have not yet been identified?
RESPONSE: No. Proposal "Due Date" has been extended to 3/2/2000. All
other terms and conditions of RFQ-0010577 remain the same. Posted
